[Review] My Crab Can Transform! IRS-01 Blood Asura!

▼“Steel Romance Workshop” is about to release its first small-scale alloy transforming figure, “IRS-01 Blood Asura.” Since the prototype was revealed in 2021, it has generated much anticipation. Now, as the autumn winds blow and crab season is upon us, let’s dive in and play with this transforming little crab!

With six arms, three sets of interchangeable hands are included for different poses.

▼Biological Form
While the design is inspired by a “crab,” the striking white head with eerie tendrils gives it more of a “centipede” vibe. The crab shell features six pairs of eyes, and viewed from above, it resembles a sinister demon mask. The entire body is fully painted, with shading applied to muscle areas to enhance the three-dimensional effect.

▼The claws are made of alloy and serve as the feet in humanoid form.

▼The humanoid “Warhammer” weapon can be mounted on the crab shell.

▼Asura Form
The design is inspired by the Asura from Indian mythology. In its roughly 10 cm humanoid form, it replicates the dramatic six-arm structure, with three faces positioned on the head, chest, and lower torso, cleverly achieving the “three heads and six arms” effect. Once transformed, the painted muscle details and weathering effects appear even more natural and refined.

▼The circular ring on the back does not participate in the transformation and is attached separately in humanoid form.

▼In terms of articulation, although the six arms can occasionally get in each other’s way, the playability remains very high. Alloy parts are used in the feet to enhance stability, giving it a solid feel and preventing it from easily toppling due to the weight of the upper body. With the interchangeable hands and two warhammers, it can be posed in a variety of dynamic stances.

▼With six pairs of arms, it can be equipped with various small-scale action figure weapons available on the market, giving it an even more powerful and dynamic appearance.

▼The series also plans to release “Iron Sea Lone Wolf (Vanguard)” and “Six Demon Beasts” in the future, though the exact release dates are still unknown.
