▼For those born in the 70s/80s, the Moshow "Warring States Demon God GoShogun" will always be called "Macron 1" — the name we knew from the Americanized "Star Wars" cartoon we loved as kids. It wasn’t until later that I realized, like "Robotech", this was another Japanese anime (Senkuu Majin GoShogun) re-edited and rewritten by Americans. My real understanding of the original "Warring States Demon God" came after playing "Super Robot Wars" and finally watching the Japanese version. Honestly, the difference in tone between the Japanese philosophical dialogue and the American campy style is huge, but I still prefer the American version I grew up with…

▼While playing with the toy, it hit me: I never actually paid attention to the names of these three jets or the combined robot in the anime. From what I vaguely recall, friends and classmates all called the small combined robot "Macron 2".

▼The jet that forms the head and arms has been heavily modified: 1. The robot’s face now faces downward in flight mode (originally, it should face forward); 2. The extended section of the main aircraft body from the anime (connected to the head) is completely removed to accommodate the combination.

▼The jet that forms the legs has a greatly simplified cockpit. The instructions show red paint to represent the cockpit glass, but the actual product lacks this entirely.

▼The three jets can combine into a robot mode. Here’s a complaint about Moshow’s instructions: they dedicate excessive space to explaining the joints’ articulation but oversimplify the combined robot’s transformation steps. For example, the leg jets’ removal method isn’t mentioned at all — I tried pulling them out forcefully before realizing they need to be slid backward. Thankfully, nothing broke…

▼The overall silhouette is far more modern, ditching the classic retro robot aesthetic.

▼The metallic finish across the body looks stunning.

▼The combined robot has decent articulation but limited playability.

▼After separating, the three jets can be stored inside GoShogun’s body as in the anime, but with changes: The chest jet requires partial transformation, differing from the anime’s storage method.

▼ The head jet uses a clear plastic bracket for secure storage (works well!). The leg jets’ storage doesn’t match the manual’s illustrations — you need to lift the foot flaps to slot them in. The instructions are truly this release’s weakest point.

▼GoShogun Main Body — Modernized Redesign: The figure retains a few iconic traits while undergoing significant redesigns.

▼Head Now heavily resembles a **Gundam** (GoShogun originally had a chin, but not this *RX-78-2 Gundam*-style angularity).

▼The large X emblem and blue shoulder armor remain, refined with modern detailing.

▼Arms removed original armor, added turbine-like mechanical structures. Swivel joints at the upper and lower arms function smoothly. The **hand replacement system** is quick and satisfying.

▼The belt is gone. The originally subtle front skirt armor is enlarged. The waist’s two holes, which fired missiles in the anime, are now styled as laser cannon ports.

▼Ground stability is good, though I was initially afraid to pose them. Another manual fail: The thigh swivel joint isn’t mentioned. I only discovered it after seeing others’ photos and cautiously testing it. Due to reports of broken legs in early batches, I handled the joints carefully. My advice: loosen the joints first and apply force in the correct direction.

▼All joints perform well, but be mindful of potential paint scratches during posing.

▼It’s too heavy for my taste — posing feels like a workout.

▼GoShogun’s cannon is changed from a laser weapon to physical shells.

▼The axe is impressively bulky. Moshow’s hand replacement system feels smooth and intuitive.

▼Final Attack Effect Part: Included but too large/heavy for dynamic floating shots. My basic photo setup couldn’t handle it, so I just posed it simply.
